 LAW ENFORCEMENT  

The general emergency telephone number is 112.  Operators speak several languages.

In Caleta de Fuste and the surrounding areas, the law is enforced by 3 bodies.  They are approachable and helpful.  All of them have the authority to arrest and detain suspects.  All of them are armed.

The Local Police

Dressed in blue uniforms.  Regularly seen in the resort.  They are generally responsible for maintaining public order and assisting the local council with legal matters such as verification of residents.

The Guardia Civil

Dressed in green uniforms.  Regularly seen in the resort.  They patrol the highways and assist the local police with bigger public order tasks such as large events.  They are also called in to handle more serious offences.

 

The National Police

Dressed in dark blue uniforms.  Not often seen in Caleta de Fuste.
